I might be able to take 101 back up to accommodate that.

The almost-all-request west coast photo tour Oct. 2007...

Alright, here's what's going on: For the 2nd and 3rd weeks in October, I'm going on a west coast road trip. I'm posting here since it will mainly focus on California. Here's your chance to get some pictures of places you've wanted to add to your collections but haven't got yet... I will be traveling...

Add Media Play and SamGoody to the collection of defunct record store chains around here. I guess Ipod killed the record store the way "video killed the radio star"? I think with Sam Goody and Media Play, it was more a case of assisted suicide... I wouldn't write off Sam Goody too fast. T...

I'm also fantasizing about 1970s Kroger superstores around Detroit. Thanks again. In Flat Rock, Michigan (about 30 minutes south of Detroit right off I-75), there's a perfect example, it's even a three-fer... New T-Mobile Commercial - Mitsua Marketplace

I caught a new T-Mobile commercial, and used my TiVo to step thru to try and identify the supermarket, and in one of the shots, I was able to see a bag with the store's name, it looks like Mitsua Marketplace, a small chain in SoCal. Does anybody have an idea on the possible location of this store or...

Thanks for the clarification. With more ships now in Bangor and the Narrows bridge now tolled, I have a feeling Silverdale will be growing. I surprised the former Good Guys location isn't occupied yet, it's been my observation vacancies in the area usually don't last very long.

One mystery to me is where the Best Products showroom would have been in Silverdale. My Spidey-Senses don't get the characteristic 1980's Best ping off anything there. The only thing I might suggest is possibly the vacant front next to PetSmart? I thought it might have been a ervice Merchandise, bu...

...Big 5 opened its Silverdale location around 1985, so they were in the area. Speaking of Silverdale, the Rite Aid on Silverdale Way in the Safeway shopping center, Was that a Thrifty as well, and/or what is the history into that location? The strip seems to be a couple decades old at least, judgi...

Redondo Beach, on Hawthorne Blvd near the Galleria, Ralphs Giant, now Ralphs (I think it's been mentioned that this is the only Giant that became a Ralphs and not F4L) The Anaheim/Buena Park location on Beach & Lincoln was a Ralphs up to at least 1995, when I moved to Michigan. Had a Thrifty ne...

I was going to mention this earlier, I'm guesing that that's Rite Aid's new signage technique, putting "Pharmacy" in a times new roman (or similar) small caps font. We have a brand-new build in Bremerton showing this, tan brick with a corner entrance, the corner is white rounded. If anyone...

Here's a Farmer Jack in Warren, Michigan. This is the interior style of the one I used to work for in Allen Park, does anybody know if this is an A&P corprate style, or one specific to the Pre-A&P Farmer Jack? The Exterior is A&P's style, so I'm leaning towards the first thought. An unbe...

Farmer Jack

Now that it's no longer savings time at Farmer Jack, (It was my first job back in '96) Does anybody have any photos from them? Architecture-wise in the 90's, the Farmer Jack stores were essentially clones of A&P's design, Some even were simply rebranded A&P stores from the 80's, but is there...
