Does anyone remember Marvin's Market? This location on Puente / Francisquito started out as an Alexander's Market.
It endured for years as Tom-Sons Market. Between the Alexander's and Tom-Sons era, there was a unique incarnation...Marvin's Market. Their weekly ads featured an humorous font with a cartoon face on top of the letters spelling out "Marvin's". A friendly "nerdy" dude wearing glasses, I remember. There were maybe five, six other locations throughout Southern California, including one I would visit in Garden Grove (the original Marvin's?) There were just so many choices to shop at growing up in the seventies!
(I finally got my long desired pictures of Shopping Bag [and the tall sign wall]. Thanks to Groceteria and Pleasant Family Shopping! To satisfy my addiction for the past, these two fantastic sites are daily visits, for sure.....
David, Chad and (PFS) Dave, you three are the best!)
