Re: Former Albertson turned Kroger in Houston
Hi, after doing my own research on this store, I have come to the conclusion that the building along with the fuel center across the tracks was definitely built as Albertsons and was later sold to Kroger and is now YES Prep White Oak campus. I don't know if Kroger operated the fuel center, it appear...

There are now two more FOOD DEPOT stores now in southern Louisiana. Piggly Wiggly at 100 Cumberland St in Bogalusa and Trabona's IGA Super Deal at 302 South First St in Amite have both been converted into FOOD DEPOT adopting the "cost plus" format and supplied by Supervalu. Their website i...

Food Depot.. Any Info?
Hi, This is a question to get a true understanding of where exactly Food Depot originated from and who exactly owns the copyrights to the trademark? All of the Food Depot stores I have researched are either cost plus 10% or a "no frill, no loyalty card, no gimmick" format stores and are al...

Closed Jackson, MS Kroger to Reopen
A closed Jackson, MS Kroger grocery store will reopen in September under Mississippi based "Vowell's Market Place" banner. The South Jackson Kroger closed with controversy in August of 2007 due to "changing demographics." The store is a Kroger greenhouse located at 2101 Raymond R...

Re: Former Kroger Stores in Jackson MS
that's ineteresting about the Kroger that once existed on West Capitol Street at Mid-City Mart.. I looked at an early Jackson phone book and it too confirmed Kroger at 1204 West Capitol Street in Jackson... and if that's the case, the shopping center went on to become West Park Center and the store ...

Re: Former Kroger Stores in Jackson MS
This next question is about the old Jackson Square Shopping Center on Terry Road in South Jackson. Looks to have once been a major retail mecca but now its almost completely 100% abandoned. I believe it once housed a movie rental store, Sherwin Williams, movie theatre, Zayre's and other stores. Was ...

Re: Sunflower Food Store.. an original Mississippi chain?
I almost forgot... There was a Sunflower in a Jackson suburb Florence, MS but this is now Ramey's Marketplace, also an independent. Once upon a time, a Sunflower existed in Brandon, MS but is now a chancery court house or something like that. There was a Sunflower Grocery in Pearl, MS that location ...

Re: Former Kroger Stores in Jackson MS
Maybe the corner of Terry & McDowell Kroger was demolished and replaced later with Albertsons which is now Brookshires. I dont see any indication that the Brookshires store is using any of the original Kroger structure. Kinda off subject, but the two original Kmarts in Jackson at Hwy 80 and I-55...

Former Kroger Superstores Operated by another chain?
Does anyone know of any Former Kroger "greenhouse" stores or my personal favorite, the "superstores," that are now operated by another grocery chain?? My personal favorite is "County Market" in Grove City, PA... this still just screams greenhouse effect outside. I like ...

Former Kroger Stores in Jackson MS
Kroger Superstores and Kroger greenhouse styles are my favorite style Krogers, I must say. I'm in the Jackson, MS area and there are a few former Kroger stores that still scream Kroger although they are operated by another chain or went into other uses entirely. Kroger Superstore 384 = Now AAA Whole...
