Re: The first Chuck E. Cheese's in San Jose, California

The Chuck E Cheese in Lynnwood, WA, IIRC, used to be a Showbiz Pizza in the 1980s (with that Rock A Fire Explosion animatronics instead of Chuck etc) then was turned into a CEC in the '90s when Showbiz went out of business. Kids screaming and yelling of course! It never was a Pizza Time Theater from...

Re: Circuit City

Circuit City in Lynnwood WA is now a Whole Foods Market, and doesn't look like a Circuit City anymore. The "plug" on the exterior was taken off.

Re: Defunct Video Store Chains?

(I haven't been on here for a few years!) Like everyone's said, Hollywood Video is gone and most Blockbusters are gone as well. We had Video Update in the Seattle-Tacoma area for many years (there was one on the Mukilteo Speedway hwy 525), and also Video West (which had many locations, the one on 22...

Re: Circuit City

The Lynnwood, WA Circuit City still has signage on the front. It's the "plug" style exterior, with the 1990s Circuit City logo. Surprisingly it's still abandoned after over a year.

Re: Northwest Safeways

The old 50s location on Othello in Seattle, again. It was remodeled in the 70s, and maybe the 80s, as in the Leaf S.

Re: QFC and Olson's

My mom worked at Olson's way back in the day (1987-199?) at the Mill Creek location. She worked at the meat department.

That became a QFC.

ShopKo stores-First ShopKo ever?/History

When I at Yakima over the Mother's Day Weekend, I stopped at the ShopKo in Union Gap, WA (Valley Mall) and saw that there was still older ShopKo shopping carts from before the early 90s, with theold "ShopKo Saves You Money Everyday" slogan, which was very surprising, because that's the onl...

Re: Lynnwood, WA former Marina Safeway

It was a Safeway, then a JoAnn Fabrics, then a Big Lots, not Office Depot or OfficeMax.

And another early 90s store. This opened about 1989-1990. However, this store remodled, and is now a full Lifestyle look now.

Re: Northwest Safeways

How about this store in Bothell, WA. Very 1960s! However, it has gotten an early 90s remodel, including the Garden Produce signs you see very often. This marina, according to historicaerials.com has been around since about 1964 or so (can someone find the year that the Downtown Bothell Safeway opene...
