Re: Hughes market Whittier ca

It looks like it was probably built as a Market Basket. Was the banner history Market Basket / Hughes / Ralphs / Northgate-Gonzales ? Long as I can remember it was a Hughes then Ralphs I think Gary The reason I think it was a Market Basket is because on Google Maps there are still some images of th...

Re: Hughes market La Habra ca

The one visit I'l always remember is one night about 10:30 I wanted to get a 6 pac of soda but all i had was $2 in pennies. So I rolled them up and drove to Albertsons that used to be in La Mirada at Telegraph and Imperial Highway. I was about to check out and the Cashier refused the Rolled Pennies ...

When ever I visit Ingles a feeling of familiar of home or sort of like "Hello old friend" comes over me. having lived on the west coast for 90 percent of my life I've never been to...

Always one of my favorite places to go. the associates working there were friendly and very helpful. I was always t...

Re: pics of Santa fe springs Ca MArket Basket

I'm really so surprised at the lack of any kind of pictures anywhere of this location. Everything I read about the Promenade at telegraph road and Orr N day road made it sound like a source of major pride for the city but seems soon as it opened in t he late 50's it was soon forgotten or what I have...

Did this appear at any other market?

Hi When I was about 12-14 1974-1976, The King Cole market acquired a peanut butter machine where you took an empty container placed it under a spigot pressed the button and it slowly filled the cup with peanut butter sort of like the current frozen yogurt machines. I always thought it was pretty nea...
