Wasn't Fedmart kind of like a Sam's Club or Costco in that you had to be a member, and diffrent from them because in order to be a member you had to be a Government Employee. Kind of like some Credit Unions

Harman's Kentucky Fried Chicken was the first franchisee for KFC, the frist restaurant was located at 3900 S State Street in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was recently demolished and replaced with a new restuarant at the same site.

I think the newer looking store was a Ralphs build, With both Ralphs and Smith's being owned by Kroger. Store designs naturally would have some shared traits. On the pictures it says that the Auburn store opened in 2002 some 5 or 6 years after Smith's exit from the California market.
