Safeway: 10554 SE Main St, Milwaukie, OR

Hi,

Does anyone have any vintage photographs of the Safeway on 10554 SE Main St in Milwaukie, OR?

I am especially looking for photos of this particular location from before 1967.

Thank you,

Ben

Portland/Vancouver Safeways That No Longer Are

Hi, Does anyone have any vintage photographs (preferably 1960s-'80s) of any Portland/Vancouver-area Safeway stores that no longer are (I would prefer that the photos be of these stores when they were Safeways)? To broaden on this topic, here are the specific locations I would like you to shed some l...

Safeway's King Road Location?

Hi Gang, Is Safeway still finishing up their King Road, OR store (at 4305 SE King Road in Milwaukie, OR)? It was at the site of the old King Road Shopping Center, which had housed a Disco Mart (from 1971-79), Food Warehouse (1979-89), Thriftway (1989-93) and IGA (1993-95) and King Road Foods (1995-2...

I believe Albertsons abandoned their Marina-roofed store architectures around the same time Safeway did away with theirs... around 1970, if I am not mistaken.

Albertsons Logos Through The Years

Hi Gang, I believe that the current Albertsons logo dates from 1976. Thus, I would like you to dig out any possible history on the logos of Albertsons since the company's 1939 founding. I know that the white "Western-style" font on blue signage would date from about 1964 to 1976. This same signage w...

You know, I have to wonder about that Portland chronology... Another center of note - Mall 205, on the eastside, which to my mind had a GI Joes, a Wards and, uniquely, a (Food Giant?) store, which was Payless Northwest's attempt at discount grocery retailing. Eric Mall 205 never had a G.I. Joe's (t...

Classic Malls in Portland, OR Before 1980

I have a few pre-1980 shopping centers in Portland, OR that come to my mind: Eastport Plaza (4000 S.E. 82nd Ave, Portland, OR): This mall had first opened October 27, 1960, and among its first anchors were J. C. Penney, Lipman's, J. K. Gill, Kinney Shoes and (J. J.) Newberry's. Then sometime in 1979...

Safeway Store Count in Portland/Vancouver (1980)

Hi Group, Does anyone know how many stores Safeway had operated in the entire Portland/Vancouver region in 1980? Here's a list of all the locations I know of that they operated in this Pacific NW region during 1980: Aloha - 18565 SW Tualatin Valley Hwy, Aloha 97006 Beaverton - 12155 SW Broadway, Bea...

Fred Meyer Raleigh Hills

Hi Gang, When I did my search for the Fred Meyer Raleigh Hills store at 7700 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy in Portland, OR, as I was gazing through the map in bird's-eye view, I found the original 1959 road sign (which I'd last seen at this location in 1996) is no longer present - it has been replaced ...

Old Fred Meyer South Salem Picture (12-68)

Hi Gang, For all you Fred Meyer fans, there is a vintage photograph from December, 1968 of their South Salem location (3450 Commercial St SE) available by going to this link: http://tinyurl.com/atglu2 One question comes to my mind about the building's exterior in this shot: Didn't the Oak Grove loca...

Safeway (Hood Center) - 1455 NE Division St (1974)

Hi Gang, Does anyone have pictures of the Hood Center Safeway at 1455 NE Division St in Gresham, OR the way it looked when it was brand new in 1974 (with the S Medallion logos)? And why did I say it opened in '74? I found that out just as you leave the store, and on the wall it said: "Serving Gresha...
