Re: JCPenney mall locations

At Northpark Mall in Davenport, Iowa the JC Penny store is the middle anchor tenant rather than being at the end.

Re: Waukegan, IL mystery grocery store

I was in Dubuque, Iowa, last week and saw the same exact building in the "downtown" area. Funny since I was thinking about posting the photos here. National made it to Iowa? I live in Dubuque and I think I know which building you're referring to. http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/3162/sc...

Re: Big Lots

The one in Dubuque, Iowa started out life as an Eagle's Supermarket up until the chain pretty much folded in the fall of 2003. It sat vacant for about a year then was turned in to a Big Lots. Re: Stores in Newton and Des Moines, IA

I wonder if any of these originally hosted an Eagle's Supermarket? I'm not sure how far west the stores were, but they were pretty extensive in the eastern Iowa before going into chapter 11.

Re: Former Boston Market locations in your area

We used to have one here in Dubuque, Iowa. I believe it closed in 2000. It sat vacant for a while before being remodeled and turned into a Taco Bell, which it has been ever since. Now the nearest Boston Markets are either in the Chicago or Milwaukee areas.

Re: Kmart Chef

It wasn't Kmart's last foray into restaurant operations. Back in the 80's Kmart purchased the Furr's and Bishops restaurant chains and held on to them until selling them in 1988 to a Lubbock, Texas based group. I started working at a Bishops in 1992. Some of the people I worked with at the time reme...
