My sources indicate that the Jensens was NOT a new build. Vons built it and was there pre 1979. Additionally, Jensens did not build stores with that kind of architecture. The center style (very distinctive) has got to be pre 1980's. From there Vons moved to the bowling alley in the shopping center o...

Very funny!!!! THAT is the typical shopper there. Was he elderly? This store is a huge embarrassment. Major problems with the landlord and city. Safeway wants to close it but can't right now because of "political" issues with the city. BTW.......the lifestyle store was repainted 2 months a...

The old small Vons on 111 and Bob Hope was always a VONS. Longs is in the same center.

The Jensens was a Vons. The Vons on Tahquitz was a bowling alley. Which Vons on 111 are you talking about? What cross street? Is it the one at the Rimrock Shopping Center or the one across the street from Macys (Westfield Mall)? Side note: The Ralphs at Smoketree Shopping Center that is being remode...

No, it is not a Fresh Fare...............it's a Marketplace. It's at the corner of Sunrise and Ramon. Also, the CVS was formerly a Savon. There is a Ralphs (formerly a Vons) at Smoketree Shopping Center (Sunrise and Palm Canyon) that is being remodeled into a Fresh Fare. This store is about 1.5 mile...

ahhhhhhhh okay. I thought the old Food Fair in Hollywood near Young's Circle had been converted to a video store (via info from a friend). So, I presumed it was a second Hustler. I wonder if it is still standing (that store was my first assignment as a store manager). BTW.....the Walgreens in Ft. La...

Hey Fredric ;)

The Hollywood store was a Food Fair and the Fort Lauderdale store was an A+P. Hustler in Ft. Lauderdale is "caddy corner" to a new Publix.

One would have to have the resources to do that.......and the time and interest ;) I wish I had the time (working 60 or more hours a week) :( (because i def have the interest). Best way would be to look under Fox Markets. Then research under Food Fair.........Food Fair/Fox and finally Pantry Pride.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm........... maybe. Food Fair sold all of it's California and Nevada stores around that time. Slight possiblitiy that BEFORE that happened they MAY have converted a former Fox Market or Food Fair or Food Fair/Fox to a Pantry Pride as a last ditch effort. I DO know there were many internal...

I had that thought too, Rich. Only because it had that "Food Fair(e)" look. < Food Fair's "marina" format. David has a foto of it on this site.

But...........it really looks too small.
