I believe the Dutchess Mall opened in 1974 and finally closed in the mid to late 1990's. Service Merchandise closed in 1996. Jamesway closed in 1994. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a May's at the Dutchess Mall in Fishkill,NY? It was a 2-story store!!

In my area of the Hudson Valley of New York during the late 1990's to early 2000's, we had an Ames in New Paltz, Jamesway in Highland, and Caldor, Bradlees, Montgomery Ward, K-Mart in Poughkeepsie. Now they're all gone, except K-Mart, with little to choose from. Target and K-Mart/Sears do me fine. I...

I'm new to this forum, but thought I'd add a bit here. There's a former Jack in the Box in New Paltz,NY that is still standing today. It was a mountain sport shop for some time and is turning into a Hookah Shop. I'll get a picture if you are interested.
