Albertsons-Skaggs combinations
I found another former Skaggs Albertsons that was separated only by some shelves up in Northglenn, CO. This, like the one in Wheat Ridge, had the shared entryway and everything. Both sides of the Wheat Ridge combo are now closed and the front was fully remodeled from five years ago. Big Lots moved i...

Sav Max was originally Food 4 Less of Modesto. They were at some point purchased by Certified Grocers, maybe 1997. I'm not sure when they rebranded from F4L to SMX. CerGro attempted to expand the format with locations in Sacramento, Orland, Oroville, North Highlands, some central valley town other t...

I just got another photo of this by chance while stopped at the stop light: Looks like the light turned green while I took the picture. http://static.flickr.com/84/214776066_c2f1f99a2f_b.jpg Also found an unremodeled Payless down on Florin that Rite Aid appears to have forgotten exists. http://www.f...

Denver
Any interesting stores in or within a reasonable distance (~ 2 hours) of Denver?
Particularly interested in old Safeways, old unremodeled Buttreys I could visit by crossing into WY, or older King /City Market units.

That store is a real fooler from the exterior. Granted the interior has a new (less than a decade old) floor and a fresh coat of paint so it doesn't exactly feel dated and perhaps the average customer doesn't even notice the dated wall signage and certain other things like those orange stockroom doo...

Safeway-San Jose
I recall previous discussion on this board about a Safeway somewhere in San Jose with an old interior. Where is it?

Maybe they can work on the exterior next. They can paint over some of the windows. How about some nice colorful bright paint. Purple? Pink? Green? They can try and match the interior of the Senter Market in San Jose (former Alpha Beta as photographed on this site when it operated as PW). I guess it ...

Smiths for years had three stores from 1987 to 1995 or so: Reno, Sparks, and Carson City. Then in 1995 they opened a store in Gardnerville. Around 1996 they had plans to open a new store in South Reno and another store in Sparks, but sold the Sparks store site to Albertsons (stupid, stupid, stupid m...
