Yes, I liked the pictures!

Is the abandoned Caldor the store on Route 211, between the old Orange Plaza Mall and the old Lloyd's/current Stop & Shop? If so, this was once a White's-Modell's.

Thanks.

Safeway's Pennsylvania Division most likely included the South Central PA area - Harrisburg, Lancaster, and York. York is about 50 miles north of Baltimore, MD and still has former Safeway outlets. One I recall is now an "Ollie Bargain Outlet" on Queen St. The Middletown, NY store was most...

Even though Shop Rite looks like a unified chain, it is actually a co-op (Wakefern Food Corporation) which maintains a unified advertising and branding campaign - The "Can-Can Sale" is one example of the branding. Shop Rite stores in the NYC Metro Area, Hudson Valley/Catskil regions, Conne...

Shop Rite (Big V Supermarkets, headquartered in Florida, Orange Count, NY) had a store on NY Route 32 in Vails Gate, NY that had the barreled roof. Shop Rite/Big V also had other locations in their trade area that had the barreled roof. Since Shop Rite operates throughout the NYC Metro Area, could t...

Bells Supermarkets seemed to be a mix of corporate stores and franchises. The stores in Erie County and Niagara County, NY seemed to be corporate stores with some standardization, but the stores in the more rural areas seemed to be franchises. Bells' stores rivaled Tops (before the Ahold takeover) a...
