Sure is riot, isn't it?! I thought I was the only one! I just recently found this site...and am so pleased to hear stories from so many folks! The locations intrigue me...I find it funny when they use the former stores' signs in front...and you can tell EXACTLY what the store had been before...as th...

It was a simple white background with a blue stipe. I actually have a coffee mug with this logo! VONS had SLIM PRICE (they still have...

I remember THRIFTIMART had stores in City of Industry CA at the corner of Gale and Hacienda. It became LUCKY...and is now a 99 Cent Only Store. The THRIFTIMART in West Covina CA was off Sunset. I believe it is now MAX FOODS.

I frequented the Montebello location often. As going to VONS today for a sandwich...Tianguis made burritos (et al) with fresh tortillas made on-site. Great lunch time!

There used to be one in Hacienda Heights (turned into a Vons, then closed. Today a 99 Ranch Market) Arcadia (on Golden West Street and Duarte Rd - today a Chinese Supermarket) Those were the only two I can think of. The Hacienda Heights site was built as a VONS. It converted to The Pantry when VONS...

The Pantry market in Hacienda Heights opened in the late 70's and was converted to a Vons market. It has since closed and is now a 99 Ranch Market. The Hacienda Heights site was originally opened as a VONS. It was converted to The Pantry when VONS acquired The Pantry chain. I believe it was convert...
