Well, the name stuck around a lot longer than 1971. I don't even remember seeing the new logo until the mid 80's. Which reminds me of the line "There's a sale at Penney's!" from the movie Airplane! in 1980.

Apparently, the GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE starts tomorrow. I heard the radio commercials, select locations only. But they've already had the "50-80% off" sales even before they decided to close. BTW, the biggest deductions are on jewelry, since a department store's markup is already high.

I had never heard of Golden Corral until this discussion. Now they're opening a location near me in Hesperia, CA. When did they first come to the state, or to the West at all? I only see 3 locations in California and none in NV on their website.

The Victorville store was converted into Famsa after being vacant for a few years. They sell mostly furniture and small appliances.
