Re: Anyone Old Enough, To Remember Returning Glass Bottles>?
The first time I discovered returning bottles I was about 7. we had been a soda family for a long while and my parents just put the bottles under the sink. There had to be at least 20 dollars in bottle returns under there. I took them back to Market Basket near us and had money for weeks.

This market used to be near the corner of Washington blvd and Telegraph Road in Whittier Ca. I used to visit it a lot with my mom when I was 12. Where was the "Whittier Downs" Shopping Center? What else was in it? The McCoy's mom shopped at when I was a kid was in East Whittier, near the intersection of Leffingwell Road and Santa Gertrudes Ave., about a mile south of Whittwood. I don't know when the one at Leffingwell and Santa Ge...

Re: Recently visited a Jax Market that was a Market Basket
It doesn't look like Market Basket decor. The MB's had the same basic interiors that Kroger had from the mid 70's to early 80's. The stores didn't use bright colored stripes like a lot of the stores of the day and tended to use more neutral earthtones. There is a picture of a Kroger on this board s...
