Re: KMart Cafeteria and Other Restaurants

-Mark C's Diner is the Uniontown Super K restaurant.

- There was apparently another concept that may have co-existed with Little Caesar's, called "Fast Eddie's"?

- One of TenPoundHammer's lists has a Wendy's inside of a Kmart. Fact or fiction?

Re: Mini-Marina - Hearne, TX

Yeah, just to clarify, IF there was a Safeway in Hearne, which there wasn't, it would've been an AppleTree.

The Dallas ones were of a separate division, sold off in 1987 in parts.

Re: Similarities Between Texaco and Shell Signage

A lot of Texacos in Texas (possibly Louisiana) got rebranded as Shell circa 2003 or so.

There's two Shells across the road in Bryan, Texas, with two Exxons a block away from each in the same area as well.

Re: Kmart Chef

It was from a website called "Pleasant Family Shopping". Kmart Chef was free-standing and not related to the in-store cafeterias. They did not, however, last very long and were shuttered by 1975.

Re: Major Players in Houston

Albertsons survived in College Station with three stores, with one closing in 2006 or so (after being open for less than five years), one in 2008 (the store was partially torn down for Wal-Mart's expansion), and one going up until 2011, even though it was the only store for miles and miles around. A...

Re: Walmart in-store restaurants

^^ That's too bad. I know that my local Wal-Mart built in 1988 had a McDonald's after a 1995 expansion, which later became Radio Grill around 1998-1999, and that later became Subway around 2005-2006, which was interesting because in the old set-up, the counters were to the back of the restaurant, an...

Re: Kmart--automatic doors?

A local Kmart that closed in 1994 did receive the new 1991 logo but never received any updates other than that whatsoever, keeping the manual doors until its death.

Re: Mini-Marina - Hearne, TX

Yes, but all Safeways in Texas became AppleTree, at least the Houston-Austin-Bryan-College Station division, of which the Hearne store would've been. Any Safeways in Dallas would be of a different division. I've looked through all the information regarding the AppleTree bankruptcy--none of them were...

Re: Mini-Marina - Hearne, TX

No. There were never any Marina stores in Texas, and it would've converted to AppleTree, which it didn't.
