Safeway Long Island (NY)

Ever operation on the Long Island area? There is a building in my town the looks like an early 50's safeway with the round roof and the really tall piller next to the main entrance. Is it a possible safeway?

There are already several threads discussing Safeway's NYC-area operations, which lasted from the 1930s to about 1961, so yes, it might well be a former Safeway.
