Temple University Photo Archives: Pantry Pride

Post by werememberretail »

Just a few minutes ago I was doing a search for Photos of old Pantry Pride stores and I hit a goldmine.

Temple University has a photo library full of photos of Food Fair Pantry Pride and Penn Fruit stores including photos from their early days after the chapter 11 declaration. and the sad final days of operations as well as the after math, that included photos of the old Food Fair Headquarters in Philadelphia.

Is the store where the shooting was a post office now? And was that an isolated incident?

Would the truck have been vandalized by employees upset about the bankruptcy?

Fount the location of Penn Fruit Company's Center City location, which was at the SE corner of 19th and Market Street, across from the RKO Stanley Warner's Stanley Theatre.

The Penn Fruit was demolished in 1972, and the Stanley Theatre a year later.
