Fisher's Foods, Canton OH

Any connection to the defunct Fisher Brothers chain in Cleveland? Their marketing says they date from 1933.

No relation. Fisher Foods (originally Fisher Brothers) began in 1907 and the management reverted to a sons in law of the founders named Conway by the 30s and later partners' family named Salmon, although one direct descendant remained in management until the chain was sold in the 60s. The Cleveland Fishers came from Jersey City. The Canton Fishers came from Baltimore. The Cleveland Fisher chain opened stores all over NE Ohio, mostly in smaller markets E to Ashtubula, W to Fremont, S to Mansfield and Youngstown, but skipped over Akron and Canton. Later the chain opened stores in Akron & Canton as Fazio's.
