With love to Auntie Em, a new state is added to the map:

This largely intact pylon Safeway on South Kansas Avenue is kind o fabulous, by the way.

As is this whole center, with the probable former centennial A&P on the left (with much altered roofline) and the bit of folded-plate gorgeousness on the right.

Thanks for sharing! The Safeway pylon/barrel roof at 1305 S. Kansas Ave. is a gem. There's another mid-century Safeway on 1301 SW Gage Blvd: It's not quite as aesthetically attractive, but the shopping centre sign is a sight to behold.

I wonder if any post-1963 Marina stores exist in Topeka?

The A&P Centennial at 105 SW 29th looks rather small and narrow, and I'd peg it as a probable retrofit of a 1950s store if not for the fact that it appeared between 1960 and 1963. Perhaps the footprint and frontage were dictated by the developer of the shopping centre, and A&P simply played along.

By the way, it looks like you accidentally embedded the spreadsheet for Dubuque on the page (though the spreadsheet download link points to the right place).

Thanks. That is corrected now. My "master" page from which I copy and paste code just happens to be Dubuque, so it was apparently a pasting error. It was late.

Corrected now.
