Lastly, the Port Clinton, OH store, which operated for years as Great Scot, recently closed...Great Scot moved to a former Kroger superstore building a mile or so from downtown Port Clinton.

I picked up the term colonial A&P from another supermarket forum. Is this a correct style or was that person, and now myself, mistaken? I know of two of this style that are still operating as supermarkets.

Colonial is fine, and is an apt description. The term "centennial" was used internally at some point, since one specific version of prototype (the most common one) coincided with the 1959 company centennial; it's also a useful term to eliminate confusion with the Colonial Stores chain.

A former Centennial in Frenchtown NJ is now operating as the Frenchtown Market (IGA). I am guessing it was an A&P until not long ago, because the interior currently has a 1990's A&P decor. The store is no more than 15k sqft. and almost all of the fixtures are still there from the A&P days.

You would not know it from the picture on the web site but the A&P in Closter NJ. on Demarest avenue started out life as a centenial and look just like the picture at the top of page one. When I was kid working at the Closter Finast, they expanded the store to the left of the building, like they did with many of their colonials in the area at the time. They have expanded the store again and put a moderen front to the store.
Its funny but my dad was friendly with both the Grand Union and A&P managers at the time and they all thougth that the A&P would close first. Fourty years later the Finast the top dog in town at the time is a Fashion Bug and the Grand Union is a Stop@ Shop and the A@pis still going strong.

I am NOT sure about this information. Hopefully someone will confirm if this information is correct. But I believe that the QFC at Lakewood Colonial Center, in Lakewood, WA is a former A&P. It may also look like a former A&P because this is a themed shopping center.

In Philadelphia, PA, we have a Holiday Shop N' Bag that is located in a former A&P Centennial/Colinial store.

In Little Silver, NJ, A&P Food Market still operates in a "Centennial/Colonial Upgrade" store. This particular A&P, when first opened, was one of the "A&P Supermarket" arch roof styles. By 1975, this location was renovated into a "Centennial/Colonial" style.
