Franz Bakery Outlet (8440 SE 45th Ave) - Former 7-Eleven?

Today as me and my parents were going to Bi-Mart, itself an ex-Safeway, on the way there was this Franz Bakery Outlet which, situated at 8440 SE 45th Ave., appears to resemble a 7-Eleven store.

And, according to PortlandMaps.com, the building was constructed in 1983 (1982), which would've meant this didn't last very long as a 7-Eleven.
If anyone has any memories of this building circa 1985 in pictures, I'd be gladly appreciative of your efforts.
