That store's an institution. My Uncle worked there until he retired a few years ago. He had been there since it was a "Giant Foods" in the 60's (Maybe even longer, I keep forgetting to ask him)

What's surprising about that story is that the store is leased. I always assumed that it had been there much longer, and that it was family-owned. It is definitely a Sacramento area institution. Hope they're able to find a suitable new location ... there's a shopping center at the corner of Arden and Fair Oaks that has had a succession of failed stores (Wild Oats, an independent, then Longs) that might work, although I think there's a new gym in the former market space. I think Corti's would be successful in that area -- it's near a Raley's and a Bel-Air (as well as Whole Foods) but Corti's offers something different.
