Centro-Mart First Location Photo

Post by pinkfloyd95209 » 03 Dec 2011 02:57

Here is a picture of the first Centro-Mart as well as Louie's Market and Mandarin Market in the 100 block of South Center Street in Downtown Stockton from 1964 before it was demolished which I got from my friend, Ron Chapman.

Different view from same block. This time looking south. You can see Centro-Mart more clearly.

VERY nice photos, thanks for sharing. Groceteria has a black and white close-up of this store on his flickr photostream. Even though the neon sign read CentrOMart, the sign on the window read Daylite Market. I think the CentrOMart's in downtown Brentwood and Oakley originally went under Daylite Market too. Do you know which name came first, or did they co-exist?
