Interior Of Former Safeway on Charter Way-Stockton

Post by pinkfloyd95209 »

Thanks to my Facebook Friend, Ron Chapman, an interior of the former Safeway Store on Charter Way in Stockton on December 28, 2011 after current tenant, Centro-Mart closes up to become a Dollar General Store. Say Goodbye to the vintage Safeway interior as it will be extensively remodeled into a Dollar General! :(

This illustrates well how sturdily built these stores were, with all that truss work and such.

This is one of the best "topic posts" on this message board. "PinkFloyd" and Ron Chapman deserve commendation for documenting this gem before it went away. When I saw that meat dept. "Service Bell," I immediately thought of those old green "astroturf" product dividers once used in grocery store meat depts., a vestige of when real parsley was used to decorate meat display cases.
