The Anaheim/Buena Park location on Beach & Lincoln was a Ralphs up to at least 1995, when I moved to Michigan. Had a Thrifty next door as well that closed in the early-mid 90's. When the store was converted to a mainstream Ralphs, they remodeled new storefronts into the space, making the supermarket smaller.

The Oceanside location became Montgomery Wards (I was born in 86 and this was the only store I remember being there) and a Ross. I can only assume that Zody's took up all 3 suites that are there now and that the building was divided into 3 afterwards, with Ward's Electric Ave, Montgomery Wards and Ross. Afters Wards left, those two suites became Stein Mart and Famous Footwear. I always thought that the facade of this building didn't quite match the rest of the shopping center, and now I can see why.

Did Zody's all have a pretty much standard facade?

Alhambra's Zodys I beleive was originally another discount chain local to the area and had a rather bland beige color with no overhangs, and red ZODYS letters. it was different than the others.

From the shape of the building, the Upland / East LA / Oceanside seem to all have a similar facade. The last generation of stores looked more sleeker with a lower entry roof.

Most Zodys were recognizable with the big entry and high ceiling as you entered. Montebello / El Monte / Fullerton / Carson / Norwalk, etc all looked like this with slight variations to the roof line. Some I remembered were just flat, others had a VVVVVV pattern like that. Most of the fronts were covered when Giant took over the locations. I remember the VVVV pattern on West Covina and Pomona (you can see the roof on a Live Local Shot).

West Covina, Pomona, Canoga Park all had the VVVVVVV roof line on top.

Long Beach, Burbank, Northridge and Garden Grove seem to be different, unless LB had the big overhang removed or never had the big overhang.

920 Blossom Hill Rd is now a Home Depot.
Its a typical late 70's / early 80's design with the grand entry. Whats different is that Home Depot kept that but actually extended the store out from it, so it makes a weird looking middle roofline. Check it out on Live Local.

375 NORTH CAPITAL AVENUE, San Jose, CA
Looks to be subdivided into a 24 hour fitness, and something else. It looks like it reads Pak and Save Grocery.. According to a google search, this used to be a Mervyns at one time. You can tell that this store was built towards the end of the chain, as the big central overhang was put near the side of the store, as you would find in most targets today. Also, it wasnt high but more in line with the rest of the shopping center, something you can see at the Riverside Zodys on Chicago Ave.

121 EL CAMINO REAL, Sunnyvale, CA
Subdivided according to the Live Local view to be a Ross / Office Depot / Sports Authority. I want to say the entry where Sports Authority is could have been added on, and the Ross Entry was the original Zodys entry. This store is a different design.

Here's a shot of the Bakersfield Zodys before it was remodeled into a Home Depot.
This was probably the only store that was unchanged after they closed. Most of the Giants/Ralphs/Food 4 Less stores covered up the top portion of the store.

19. FULLERTON, 120 E. IMPERIAL HWY. OPENED 11/30/1969 Now a Best

Currently a BEST BUY.

After ZODYS...it became KMart. When KMart built the Super KMart down the street, the site became BEST BUY.

When the Super KMart closed, it sat vacant for years. Target is now moving into the site.

Drove by the El Monte Santa Anita (adjacent to El Monte Airport) store last week on my way to the LA County Arboretum - exactly the same look as the Bakersfield site pictured above, now painted dark blue (Sam's Club). Valley TV next door (don't know if that was part of the original Zody building) has recently closed and is now vacant.

Actually the El Monte/Santa Anita was a later style that Zodys went to. Here's a pic I took about 4 years ago.

The El Monte Zodys looked more like the Montebello store, which opened in the 70's:

Drove by the site this week. Food 4 Less is hopping.

PayLess is still vacant. Still has the funky stickers on the window...as well as the interior paint, etc.

Amazing it has been vacant so long.
