Franksville Hot Dogs?

Post by LadyNoir »

Anyone remember this mostly long gone chain of hot dogs places around the Chicago area? I passed an old prototype of Franksville on the South Side yesterday. They had very distinct looking buildings and were around Chicago in the mid to late 1960s. There is a location on Harlem still in operation though the others are long gone. Any more info would be much appreciated.

Here's the one that was on the south side at 954 E 87th street

Here's the location still on Harlem:

Apprently there were once a slew of these around the city and suburbs including Chicago Heights, Oak Lawn, Villa Park and Waukeegan. They were known for the foot long hot dogs. Not sure if this was regional or national or just local chain. Any info would help. Thank you in advance.
