What Year(s) Did KFC Do Away with the Rotating Bucket Signs?

Post by StoreLiker2006 »

Hi,

Does anyone familiar with Kentucky Fried Chicken buildings past and present remember what locations as built from the ground up didn't have the rotating bucket on the road signs representing these particular buildings (think the early 1980s when road sign ordinances got restrictive, making such signs be shorter in height)?

Also, what pre-1980 KFC stores have had their rotating bucket signs removed and were given newer road signs to comply with road sign ordinances of the '80s and beyond?

I know the ex-KFC (to be a Taco Time) at 14715 SE McLoughlin Blvd in Oak Grove, OR, never had the rotating bucket on its road sign, leading me to believe this store opened in the early-mid 1980s. However, at least three other departed KFC's (5009 SE Powell Blvd., 4315 SE King Rd., and a location in Moreland) I know have had the rotating buckets on their road signs.
