QFC and Olson's

Post by marshd1000 »

Most of the Olson's store in King and Snohomish Counties were bought by QFC in the 90's. Olson's logo used a oval that was similar in shape to Kroger. So the following photo almost looks like this QFC was a former Kroger. This, of course, isn't true, since the Kroger has never operated under the Kroger name in Washington State. Also can anyone tell me the history of Olson's?

That would be the one in Everett, right? I've been there a time or two, but don't know much about it.

I've seen Olson's ads in the local papers dating back to the early 70s, but that's as much as I can tell you right now. I also know the QFC I shop at in Redmond opened as an Olsons in roughly 1994, and got changed over a couple of years later.

My mom worked at Olson's way back in the day (1987-199?) at the Mill Creek location. She worked at the meat department.

That became a QFC.
