NEW: Springfield OH 1925-2020 (good one)

OK, this one is fascinating. Springfield was a fairly large city through much of the 20th century, and there was a lot more to uncover here that I initially expected. I ended up going a little deeper into the research on this one than I sometimes do. Enjoy. Or don't. Your call.

I’m a little surprised that Marsh never went this far East. They had stores in nearby towns like Xenia for awhile and had some long running stores in the outer fringe areas of Cincinnati and Dayton. Maybe this was too large a market for them.

Liberal was based in Dayton and a major player there as well as a second stringer in Cincinnati, although like here, they got into major shopping centers.

A&P never seemed to have the store density in central and southern Ohio that they had in northeast Ohio.
