Yesterday, I was in the QFC in downtown Gig Harbor. I had been in there before but I am really surprised that it has not been remodeled!
This store originally was Uddenberg's Thriftway. It was also the last piece of the Uddenberg empire to be purchased by QFC. Originally it was part of the Uddendberg Thriftway/Stock Market Foods chain. Then, QFC bought all the Uddenberg stores except the Downtown Gig Harbor store, which the Uddenberg's kept.
This store looks like it has not changed since the 80's or early 90's. It was kind of cool to see this. It does have a full deli and bakery. Also, it still has a Seattle's Best Coffee integrated in the bakery, unlike stores with a Starbucks, which is usually in a separate stand.
Anyway, does anyone know the reason this store has not had a remodel? Although it does suit the old fashioned look of Downtown Gig Harbor.
