Safeway was NEVER in Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont... This is one of those times when the person must be referring to "Main Street". My Dad and his parents lived in Maine for most of their lives and without any doubt in their or my minds Safeway was never there.

The person who posted the photos specifically referred to a place called, "Lights End, Maine." I'm not doubting that this store was a Safeway but and referring to the location. For what its worth there is no town in Maine called "Lights End".
